Our staff

Each of our 24 classrooms is staffed with a teacher supported by a teacher’s aide. Staff are highly specialised in the areas of disability. Each staff undertakes termly reviews of their Developing Performance Reviews. We have additional staff supporting specialised programs and community aide programs.

Specialised programs:

  • Guidance Officer 5 days a week

  • School Chaplain 2 days a week

  • Registered Nurse based at our school

  • Community Liaison Officer

  • Music Therapy Program

  • Motor Therapy Program 4 days per week

  • MOVE Program support 1 day per week

  • ICT / Technology 1 day per week

  • Communication Program support 2 days per week

  • Design and Technology Program with Currumbin Community Special School 2 days per week

  • Community Aide to support meal time management, personal hygiene and skills development

There are specialised staff that visit the school as part of the Department of Education human resource management. This includes a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech and language therapist, advisory visiting teachers. We have a registered nurse who is based at our local school and a fulltime Guidance Officer. All of these services are available through a referral process.
