Mudgeeraba Special School student council was established in 2006 school year with an aim to further promote active involvement of students in the life of their school community. Student council body involves senior intermediate and senior class representatives. The council meets on a weekly basis and focuses on developing awareness of different issues in their immediate and wider environment and what role they may play in the process of contributing to changes.
The student council coordinated a number of community events within the school including Harmony Day, commemorative services for ANZAC and Remembrance Days, Pancake Day – People Uniting Day Care Help, Purple Day – Epilepsy Awareness, Wipe Out Waste, and National Nude Food Day.
The focus of Mudgeeraba Special School student council for 2015 is environment. The environment program concentrates on promoting environment friendly process within the school. We are working in partnership with Silkword School undertaking the program of "Kids Teaching Kids"
